How to Dye Your Hair the Right Way

How to Dye Your Hair the Right Way

How to Dye Your Hair the Right Way

Ready to go for that unique look and jump into the dying-your-hair side of the world? We know taking that step to change your hair color can be daunting. Don’t take the leap just yet!  Make sure that you do all of your research and your hair is well prepped for the change. You don’t want to leave the salon with regret and sad hair.
One of the big risks of dying or bleaching your hair is how much it can dry out your hair.  So, if your hair already tends to be on the dry side (and even if it’s not), POUR ON THE MOISTURE! Make oil products and conditioners your immediate go-to.  Our Rucker Roots GTC collection and conditioners will provide your hair with all the moisture it needs in preparation for the big step.

Hair Coloring and Bleaching Aftercare

You’ve taken that leap – now what?  How do you care for your hair once it is dyed/bleached? Again, it is ALL ABOUT THE MOISTURE!  Make sure that you are deep conditioning your hair weekly.  We have found that adding a few drops of our Silkening Growth Serum into our Detangling Conditioner makes a great deep conditioner to add and lock in moisture and shine.
Another good routine to get into is spritzing some of our Daily Leave In Conditioner when you’re getting ready for the day. Doing this 10 second step will make a huge difference in getting some moisture and shine back into your hair.
When you have color-treated hair, adding moisture is going to be an all year round job. During the colder months of winter when everything feels dry, it’s a great idea to have a regimented hair care routine that adds the important moisture back into your hair. During the warmer months of summer you may be thinking it’s all sunshine and moisture but you do still have to be careful! If you love to splash around in the pool, try not to get your hair wet in chlorine water because that could seriously dry out your hair. If you stick to these tips, dying your hair will be no problem!
