Sadie's Story

Sadie's Story

This Thanksgiving season, we have a lot to be grateful for. In addition to amazing supporters and thriving businesses, our family is happy and healthy.

For those who don't know, Ellen's daughter Sadie was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare liver disease that occurs in infants. We quickly placed her on a transplant list to replace her damaged liver and begin the wait. Thankfully, a donor's liver became available a few months later and Sadie underwent a successful liver transplant. Now 2 and a half years old, Sadie brings so much life and joy to our household.

So, as we continue to think about all that has happened the last few years, we can't help but give thanks for:

  • The advancements made in pediatric liver disease that pioneered the treatment Sadie needed
  • The selfless act of the liver donor’s family, who turned their devastating loss into a life-saving gift
  • Our amazing medical team, whose skills, shared knowledge, and compassionate care saved our daughter’s life
  • The support and resources we had access to that guided us through all the decisions, treatments, tears and fears

After going through this painful diagnosis, it is important to us that we help other parents who may face the same battle by equipping them with access to the best care, resources, and support to achieve the same positive outcome that we had for Sadie.

So, this holiday season, will you help us give the gift of a healthy baby to families across the country?

We have decided to give a portion of the proceeds from our Black Friday Sale to the American Liver Foundation, which provides millions living with or newly diagnosed with liver disease with education, resources, and mentor support.

You can help us further support the American Liver Foundation and the families it helps, by giving today. Click here to donate now!

As Always, we truly appreciate all your love and support. It means to the world to us and our families.

Happy Thanksgiving from our families to yours!

    Love,

    Ellen and Ione
